The patterns are not the curse; they are a message, a communication of its presence. 

A curse is spiritual; it is like an atmosphere or mantle that permits negative occurrences, having the capacity to break barriers, pursue and catch up with its victim(s).

A curse does not necessarily signify that its victim is a sinner. It is not a symbol that the individual personally sinned against God.

1. The sinner’s curse: Anyone who has not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord as Saviour remains under the curse of the law; the dominion of evil perpetually abides above such an individual.
