DCLM Daily Manna – Miracles Lead To Confession

Topic: Miracles Lead To Confession [DCLM Daily Manna 16 September 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Exodus 18:1-12 (KJV)

1 When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;

2 Then Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back,

3 And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:

4 And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:

5 And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:

6 And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.

7 And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.

8 And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

10 And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.

12 And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses’ father in law before God.

Key Verse: “Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them” (Exodus 18:11).

MESSAGE:

The queen of Sheba undertook a long journey to Jerusalem after hearing of the greatness and wisdom of Solomon, the king of Israel. She was also a great personality in her own right. But her fame paled beside that of the son of David. She decided to prove this man’s wisdom and riches, which overshadowed her own. Solomon’s grandeur was as a result of the favour he received from God. It proved the point that any project backed by God will always attract attention.

It was the same with the great deliverance of the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt. The miraculous crossing of the Red Sea on dry ground by these descendants of Jacob also led many to come and visit the Israelites.

Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law was one of those who came visiting in the wilderness. He was not only amazed, but also showed reverence to God. He made a confession that should follow every great and mighty act of God: “now, I know that the LORD is greater than all gods…”

Every being should come to the realisation that there is no stopping when God proposes to accomplish something. He will fulfil all promises, subdue every situation that attempts to exalt itself above the knowledge of God and spoil all principalities and powers that raise their shoulders in pride against His name. As we acknowledge His presence and personality, He will no doubt prove Himself in our lives that there is no other beside Him.

Thought For The Day: Every challenge fades away into insignificance when we have God in focus.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Deliverance By The Prophetic

Topic: Deliverance By The Prophetic [Seeds Of Destiny 7 September 2019 Devotional]

By virtue of the prophetic, deliverance from curses is mandatory.

SCRIPTURE: In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. Jeremiah 31:29

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You owe the devil nothing.

Yesterday we commenced a journey of exploring the scriptural bases for deliverance from curses, and today, we are going to look at another basis for deliverance. A major scriptural basis for deliverance from curses is the prophetic. By virtue of the prophetic, deliverance from curses is mandatory.

Now, the prophets are those who speak into the destiny of God’s people and the prophetic is the declaration of God into the future of His people. So, the prophetic is the declared future for God’s people.

For instance, Ezekiel 18:20 says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

God is saying that what your father did cannot affect you. That is to say even if your father was an occult person, armed robber or killer; or your mother was a water priestess or witch; their wickedness shall be upon them only and not you. So, if the devil is looking for the wickedness of your father in order to bring his punishment on you, let him meet your father, even to the grave, and settle with him there because as a child of God, you owe the devil nothing.

In Jeremiah 31:29, the Bible says that they shall say no more that the fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. No more!

Beloved, you cannot bear the consequences of your father’s transactions with the devil; you owe the devil nothing.

Remember this: You owe the devil nothing.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Always believe the report of the Lord concerning your life.
  2. Speak the Word of God into your life consistently.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for countering generational curses and establishing me in liberty by Your Word. On the grounds of this liberty, I owe the devil nothing, in Jesus’ Name!

DCLM Daily Manna – Which Way Lord?

Topic: Which Way Lord? [DCLM Daily Manna 7 September 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Jeremiah 10:17-25 (KJV)

17 Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.

18 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.

20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

24 O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Key Verse: “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” (Jeremiah 10:23).

MESSAGE:

“Guide me, O thou great Jehovah! pilgrim thro’ this barren land; I am weak, but thou mighty, hold me with thy powerful hand”. These are the words of P.W. Williams. These words should proceed daily out of the mouth of anyone who wants a stress-free life.

God made man a free moral agent, giving him the ability to choose for himself. But God says that the way of man is not in himself and he alone cannot direct his own steps. From the Bible, we see choices made by different people which in turn brought great calamity on them. For David, he chose to stay back while the battle was going on; Saul chose not to wait for Samuel before offering the sacrifice. Judas chose to betray the Saviour; Solomon chose to marry strange women amongst others. We know the consequence that befell them. For some, the choices they made earned them an eternal damnation in hell while few others, by God’s grace, were able to correct their costly mistakes.

How do you make your choice? Do you just do so by instinct or maybe like Solomon your friends are your compass. “The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue is of the Lord” (Proverbs 16:1). There is the need to seek for God’s approval in any decision we take in our lives in order to smile at the end of the road. Let God direct you as you go out today and for the rest of your life. Make this your constant cry: “which way Lord?” and you’ll hear a voice saying to you “…this is the way, walk ye in it…” (Isaiah 30:21).

Seeking directions from God shows how important we place Him in our lives. Until when that phrase becomes our daily confession, we are yet to be led by our Creator. Let Him be your Guide.

Thought For The Day: In God’s way, we need not fear!

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Escape Routes From Curses

Topic: The Escape Routes From Curses [Seeds of Destiny 6 September 2019 Devotional]

The blessing of God was on ground before the curses of life came; the blessing preceded the curse; light existed before darkness.

SCRIPTURE: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Mentality determines reality.

Previously, we saw the various origins of the curse which were personal iniquity or wickedness, parental iniquity or wickedness, occult or witchcraft involvement, enchantment and divination.

It has been confirmed that truth guarantees freedom. So, today we are going to explore scriptural truths that act as the bases for deliverance from curses.

Now, what are the bases for deliverance?

1 Creation

By virtue of creation, deliverance from curses is mandatory. Genesis 1:28 says, And God blessed them….So, the blessing of God was on ground before the curses of life came; the blessing preceded the curse; light existed before darkness. This implies that the transaction of your parents and ancestors that tried to implicate you with curses only came after you had been blessed by God at creation.

2 The Covenant

By virtue of the covenant, deliverance from curses is mandatory.

Before God made a covenant with Abraham, there was a trinity of calamity in his family – dying before time, starting without finishing and living without relevance (Genesis 11:25-32), but after the covenant, that chain of calamity was broken (Genesis 12:1-5).

Galatians 3:13-14 says, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on us through Jesus Christ…

And what is the blessing of Abraham? It is living above generational curses, surviving where your father could not survive, and achieving what your father could not achieve.

Beloved, mentality determines reality. You need a change of mind-set to have a change of life; you need to believe that by connecting with the blessing of Abraham through Christ, you cannot be under any ancestral curse.

I take authority over every curse, spirit of limitations and setbacks. In the Name that is above every name, anything that stopped your father cannot stop you.

Remember this: mentality determines reality.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Live with the mind-set that you cannot be under any curse because you are in Christ Jesus.
  2. Study the life of Abraham and follow his principles.
  3. Reject every pronouncement over your life that is contrary to the scripture irrespective of who made it.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for setting me free from every curse by the Blood of Jesus Christ. I am unstoppable! What stopped my father cannot stop me, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Work For Everyone

Topic: Work For Everyone [DCLM Daily Manna 6 September 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Acts 13:1-7 (KJV)

1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:

7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

Key Verse: “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them” (Acts 13:2).

MESSAGE:

Late Thomas Carlyle, a Scottish historian and writer once remarked, “A man willing to work and unable to find work, is perhaps the saddest sight under the sun”. It is not the will of God that man should be idle doing nothing. God has work for each one of His creatures to do. The various things which He has made on the earth lend credence to the fact that even the minutest creature He has made has its own place, its own work and its fitness to do it. The birds, though without hands, make intricate nests for their abode, the spider spins its webs to trap its prey for daily bread; the ant is ever so busy working in its season to shame the idle man. We are made to offer service unto God and for humanity.

In our text, God, by the Holy Spirit declares He had work for Paul and Barnabas for which purpose they were called to dedicate themselves, their time and talents. In secular life as well as in ministry, we do not all have to look same direction. There is a work appointed for every man.

God could not have raised a man and endowed him merely for his own sake; for He has said: “This people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise (Isaiah 43:21). God has called us for Himself that we may share in the glory that is in His son Jesus Christ. He has left for us the great privilege of accomplishing the Great Commission by telling the world the wonderful story of the love of Jesus.

Let us ponder on this eternal purpose in God’s mind to have put us in the place where we are and do it. When opportunity offers itself of serving God and our generation by proclaiming the gospel message, we must take care not to let it slip.

Thought For The Day: Honour in time and eternity awaits he who serves God diligently.
