DCLM Daily Manna – Prayer Of Complaints Is Damnable

Topic: Prayer Of Complaints Is Damnable [DCLM Daily Manna 2 September 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Numbers 11:31-35 (KJV)

31 And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

35 And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.

Key Verse: “And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague” (Numbers 11:33).

MESSAGE:

One day after listening to the teaching that God is angry with the sinners continually, a little girl curiously asked why God still allows the rain He sends on the land of the righteous people to extend to the farms of the wicked. Her parents told her that the anger of God is not like the anger of man. God is longsuffering.

In our text, we see how God met the needs of His people which they requested for in the previous verses. God had preserved them through all dangers and hardship such as attacks from enemy nations, hunger, thirst and diseases. The people seemed to be oblivious of this fact as they presented their new request through murmuring and unbelief. God nevertheless proved to them that He could meet all their needs; so, He graciously provided their desired meat for them but scarcely had they finished eating it when a terrible disease broke out in their camp.

As believers, our own desire should not be the meat that perishes but the one that endures to everlasting life. We should not allow short-sightedness to make us to prefer the temporal to the eternal. Whatever we desire from God should not be presented through complaint, murmuring, regret and nagging. Rather, we should make our requests known unto God through prayer of faith and accept the outcome of the prayer with humility and implicit obedience.

Believers ought to learn from the fate that befell the Israelites in this text. We should put all our trust in God as He is abundantly able to supply all our needs at His own time because with Him, nothing is impossible.

Thought For The Day: Prayer with a background of complaints blocks access to heaven.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Plague Of Wrong Association

Topic: The Plague Of Wrong Association [Seeds Of Destiny 2 September 2019 Devotional]

Association fuels assimilation, and who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

SCRIPTURE: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Association fuels assimilation, and who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

An association is the fact of being involved with or connected to someone or something. To be associated with someone, therefore, means to be involved with, or connected to them.

The importance of the right association cannot be over-emphasized. It has been confirmed that association fuels assimilation, and who surrounds you determines what you can survive. So, the right association is very crucial for life and destiny fulfilment.

Beloved, it is expedient that you change your association the moment you surrender your life to Christ. It is not possible for a person who is born again, filled with the Holy Ghost, to have a drunkard, smoker or womanizer as his closest friend. The truth is that it is risky to think that they cannot convince him to compromise.

If I may ask, is it possible for a fly to play on a hot stove even if the fly had a dream where it saw itself playing on the hot stove? Will that fly make such a dream a reality? NO! You cannot be fire and garbage survives around you without being burnt.

I personally know some people who avoid us like a plague because they are not born again. Our mere appearance torments their souls and convicts them of their compromise.

Now, if a child of God always enjoys the company of the ungodly, he should also be ready to enjoy their destination which is hell fire because, who you company with determines what accompanies you. Who you follow determines what follows you.

My counsel is, if you are not a vulture that inhabits corruption but an eagle that will not taste rottenness, then locate your kind in order to fulfil your destiny.

REMEMBER THIS: Association fuels assimilation, and who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Consciously choose your association.
  2. Disengage from any association that will make you compromise your faith in God.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Who Surrounds You?

Topic: Who Surrounds You? [Seeds of Destiny 10 August 2019 Devotional]

The quality of one’s destiny is determined by the quality of his relationships. The people in your life affect the quality of your life.

SCRIPTURE: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

We have been on a journey of exploring the factors that confirm the fulfilment of destiny. Previously, we have seen the maintenance quality relationship with God amongst others. Today, we shall be looking at the sustenance of quality relationship.

It is important to know that the quality of one’s destiny is determined by the quality of his relationships. The people in your life affect the quality of your life. There is something that is worse than the lack of money; it is the lack of quality people. It is a miserable person and a miserable destiny that is empty of quality people.

Those who don’t value people don’t value their destiny. The truth is, no one can succeed in this world without quality people because the world is filled with people. So, a lack of value for quality people equals lack of value for destiny.

When Paul the Apostle was stoned to death in the Book of Acts 14:20; those he had loved and touched surrounded him, they stood round about him. They did not say anything, they did not offer a prayer; they just released on him their goodwill, affection, positive touch, and he stood up on his feet.

Who surrounds you determines what you can survive; who surrounds you determines how far you can succeed.

Beloved, do not play with your surrounding because your surrounding determines your success and survival. If you doubt me, ask those who live in snake-infested areas. It is a great thing to be surrounded by people who supply you goodwill because goodwill is stronger than witchcraft.

Remember this: Who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Disconnect yourself from any relationship that is not adding value to your life and destiny.
  2. Surround yourself with quality people.
  3. Determine to be a quality person to those who stay around you.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Make Sense On Time

Topic: Make Sense On Time [Seeds of Destiny 1 August 2019 Devotional]

Beloved, opportunity is universal, but success is not universal. So, every time you have the stage, make sense on time because the stage is not yours forever.

SCRIPTURE: To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every time you have the stage, make sense on time because the stage is not yours forever.

Opportunity, according to Oxford Dictionary is a time or a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something. Effective management of opportunities is very critical to success in life and destiny. How people end up in life is determined by how they manage the opportunities of their lives.

When I was in the Medical School, I was made the president of the Christian Medical Students Fellowship of my university. There was a time we went for the Christian Medical Students National Conference at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. People from different universities across the country gathered and some persons were appointed to anchor different items on the program schedule, and by privilege, I was appointed to lead a five-minute segment of prayer. And within those five minutes, there was an eruption. The impact was both tangible and undeniable.

So when it was time to elect the national president, they almost unanimously pointed to the direction of the man who brought fire in five minutes; they made me the national president of the fellowship. Thus I became national president, travelled across the country, preaching to medical students, and that experience was very foundational for my life and ministry.

Beloved, opportunity is universal, but success is not universal. So, every time you have the stage, make sense on time because the stage is not yours forever; there are others queuing up to make sense. To be an opportunity waster is to be a destiny waster.

Remember this: Every time you have the stage, make sense on time because the stage is not yours forever.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Have a mentality of making impact anywhere you go; refuse to be insignificant.
  2. Seize the moment; utilize every opportunity you have, and if you feel there is no opportunity, create one.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to maximize every opportunity I have in life. Help me never to be an opportunity waster, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: 2 Chronicles 30:1 to 31:21, Romans 15:1 to 22, Psalm 25:1 to 15, Proverbs 20:13 to 15

QUOTE: If you understand the times, you will end up as a commander in your generation. 30 SECRETS TO THE TOP by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: An eagle can kill a young deer and fly away with it.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Receive the grace to make sense on time in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Fed From Heaven

Topic: Fed From Heaven [DCLM Daily Manna 1 August 2019 Daily Devotional]

Text: Exodus 16:32-36 (KJV)

32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.

34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

Key Verse: “And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years until they came to a land inhabited…” (Exodus 16:35a).

MESSAGE:

Sometime in May 2018, pictures circulated in the social media showing multitudes of fish instead of rain, falling from the sky on the streets of a particular Asian city. Men were seen busy gathering heaps of fish into containers. Though no explanation was given for such strange occurrence, someone said he believed it was a form of “manna” from God for that city.

Moses, as directed by God, had instructed Aaron the high priest to take a pot and fill it with manna to be kept for a memorial so that future generations of the children of Israel would be able to see the manna with which God fed them for forty years in the wilderness.

God’s sovereign power was clearly displayed so that the children of Israel would not be in doubt as to the great power of Jehovah. Besides the various miracles He performed, including those of judgment against Pharaoh and the Egyptians, and how He divided the Red Sea, He also gave them water from the rock when they were thirsty. However, the children of Israel failed to appreciate the ways of God and kept on provoking Him by their constant complaints and murmuring.

As believers, regardless of the harsh economic situations we are facing today, our complete confidence must be on the promises of God. As we believe and confess this truth regularly, our God will respond by granting the desire of His people. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. As He fed thousands of people, so will He supply our needs according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus. He promises never to leave nor forsake us. He that spared not His own Son but gave Him to die for our sins has also with Him freely given us all things.

Thought For The Day: Jehovah Jireh provides for His own.
